Sinfin Library

Ten Derby libraries will become community managed by the end of February 2020 as part of the Council’s plans.

Direct Help and Advice (DHA) will be responsible for running the ten libraries in partnership with Community Action Derby and Citizens Advice South Derbyshire and City.

In May 2017, Citizens Advice South Derbyshire and City took on the responsibility to manage Sinfin Library through a team of volunteers, as part of the partnership agreement with DHA.

The library has these accessibility aids:

* Level access

* Automatic doors

* Accessible counters

* Large print books and audio books

* Induction loop

* Computers with Zoomtext and high visibility keyboards.

* Free parking.


There is currently a range of fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks and magazines available at the library.

Library tickets from throughout Derby and Derbyshire libraries are valid within the library.

Hold items can be requested and collected from Sinfin Library.

There are 14 computers for public internet access (30 mins) and 1 public printer (printing charged at 14p black and white and 42p per colour)

There is a conference room which can be rented out by the hour at a minimal charge.

*Derbyshire Community Bank – Weekly from 24th Jan 2019 (Thursday)

*Sinfin Book Club - Monthly (Monday)

*Dig It - Drop in session – Weekly (Wednesday)

*Citizens Advice Drop-In sessions Weekly – (Monday/Wednesday/Fridays 10-4pm)

*Knit & Natter - Weekly (Tuesday AM)

*Rhyme Time -Weekly (Tuesday AM)

* The library is also used as a polling station.
